Daddy's Girl

Riley really loves her daddy! I really think PJ is going to have a difficult time when school starts back. He has developed a close bond with Riley the past couple of months. Here is a recent picture of them at PJ's grandmother's house. If you look closely to the right, you will see her Grandpa as a young boy. How sweet!

"Chronicles of Riley - Part 2"

So where we're we......I think we made it to 11 or 12 weeks. Riley met her cousin Hannah for the first time. They are 9 weeks apart. Hannah was born 12/9 and Riley 2/8.

14 weeks - Riley is loving her new exersaucer. She is so small! We had to actually roll a blanket and place it behind her back to keep her up. Now she's jumping and pulling on everything!

15 weeks - Riley is as big as her bear, Millie. Aunt Josie got Millie for her. She's got to have a stuffed animal she can grow with! Too bad "Papa Bear" won't let her sleep with any toys in her crib.

16 weeks - I just love this picture of her. Her cheeks are so rosy!

17 weeks - It's amazing how big she has gotten. She can actually almost place hr feet firmly on the bottom of the exersaucer, and she is starting to reach out for things. Amazing!

18 weeks - First trip to the beach. She was NOT too happy about feeling the salt water on her little toes. The water was cold, but we just had to do it! The next morning it was very sunny!

Riley with her Godfather, Max.

19 weeks - Riley's first time in her high chair. She looks so small compared to the chair.

She's ready for a swim in the bathing suit her Aunt Brook got her. It's so cute, I want one for myself!

21 weeks - Riley's first 4th of July. She looks patriotic in her red, white, and blue. Next year, there will be fireworks!

23 weeks - Her first pool play date wit Kyle. They are not happy! The story goes like this - RIley splashed Kyle, he started crying, then she started crying. It was all over after that! It was the shortest play date in history!

My favorite picture of Riley to date. She is a Clemson girl, despite what her father thinks!

24 weeks - Here is Riley attempting to eat rice cereal for the first time. As you can tell she didn't know what to think of it at first! After a few more bites, she was ready for more.

25 weeks - Riley is sporting her first pair of sunglasses. My theory on this is - if they are important for adults to wear, why not kids?? We got these from http://www.babybanz.com/. Check it out!

This is Riley to date. Look for more to come. She is doing something different everyday. Today she rolled from her back to her stomach and then back to her back. She just kept on rolling until she got too close to the fireplace. Then I intervened! Still no teeth! That has been hard. Baby Orajel and teething tablets have been doing the trick. Anyway, stay tuned for more!

"Chronicles of Riley"

This latest entry is dedicated solely to Riley's growth through the last 5 months. It is really amazing how big she is now compared to when she was born. At her last pediatrician visit (4 month shots - ouch!), she was almost 14 pounds. At birth she was 7 pounds 1 ounce. She has come a long way! Her next visit to the doctor is in August (6 month shots).

This was Riley during her first week home. She is so tiny! Swaddling was really the only thing that would help her get to sleep and stay asleep, although for only 2 -3 hours before I would have to feed her.

3 weeks - In her Carolina outfit. Don't worry! I have a Clemson one too! GO TIGERS!

6 weeks - PJ doesn't really care for this picture, but I just love her St. Patty's Day outfit - especially the socks!

9 weeks - Meeting her Great Grandma Mauro (or GG as I call her). Riley looks so peaceful. Only a few minutes earlier she was screaming her head off!

10 weeks - I just love this picture of Riley. She had just had a bath so her hair was sticking straight up. She is such a cutie pie!
13 weeks - Some pictures we have made at Portrait Innovations. This was a 1 1/2 week process. The first time we went she had a meltdown and there was no stopping it. So, we had to go back the next week (or maybe it was 2) to finish up her pictures. They turned out really well!

Well that's it for now. I will have to finish the "Chronicles of Riley" tomorrow. I am a working mother, and I need some rest!

Meet the Mauros

Okay, so I am new to this blogspot thing. I needed another thing to take up my time! I am hoping this site will help me chronicle the daily activities of the Mauro Family!

We are currently a family of 5 - PJ (dad), myself (mom), Riley (daughter), Bella (doggie #1), and Baxter (doggie #2). I am a pharmacist, my husband is a teacher and varsity football coach. We moved to Greenville a year ago, and we LOVE it! We live in a cute neighborhood where you can see the Blue Ridge mountains from our front door. It's really beautiful. My daughter Riley is now 5 1/2 months old. She was born on February 8, 2008. She is so much fun. She is learning to roll and she has just started eating rice cereal, which by the look on her face has to be just terrible! She is sort of going through a spell where she throws tantrums right before bedtime. She started this about a week ago. Once she falls asleep she will sleep a good 10 hours which is exciting for us.

Here is a picture of us last night (7/20) during our dinner social. Riley looks smooshed!

This is from Riley's baptism on June 22nd at St. James Episcopal Church. A lot of our family and freinds attended - Max (godfather), Becky (godmother), Grandma Mauro, Great-Grandma Mauro (GG), Great Aunt Rose, Lola (grandma in Tagalog), Grandaddy Jones, Uncle Bobby, Aunt Krista, Uncle Gene, Al, Suzie, Tom, Ally, and Bess. She is blessed to have such wonderful family!

We went to our first Greenville Drive game on 7/19. Riley was sporting her dad's sunglasses. PJ thinks she looks like Posh Spice! We actually bought her some baby banz and can't wait to see those cute little things on her sweet face!
